Every Landelier project begins with listening
Before drawing a line, we look closely at the land, the architecture, the light, the views, the existing trees, and the way the client hopes to live outdoors. We ask what should be protected, what should be softened, what should feel open, what should feel private, and what kind of life the garden needs to hold. This careful beginning allows the design to feel natural rather than imposed.
Listening & Site Understanding
We begin with a conversation and a site walk. This is where we learn about your lifestyle, priorities, family needs, aesthetic preferences, maintenance expectations, and long-term goals.
We study the property’s existing conditions: grading, circulation, sun and shade, drainage, views, screening needs, architecture, neighboring context, and existing vegetation.
Concept Design
The concept phase defines the larger vision. This may include arrival experience, outdoor rooms, pool and terrace relationships, lawn areas, planting character, privacy strategies, circulation, gathering spaces, and overall atmosphere.
The goal is to create a clear design direction that feels both beautiful and practical.
Design Development
Once the concept is established, the design becomes more detailed. We refine layouts, materials, planting structure, grading relationships, lighting intent, and construction coordination.
This phase turns the vision into a thoughtful, buildable landscape.
Planting & Material Language
Plants are never treated as an afterthought. They are central to the feeling of the garden.
We consider structure, texture, bloom sequence, movement, wildlife value, deer pressure, maintenance, and seasonal change. Materials are selected with equal care, creating a quiet relationship between house, garden, and surrounding landscape.
Contractor Coordination
Landelier can assist in preparing drawings for contractor pricing, reviewing bids, clarifying design intent, and coordinating with architects, builders, engineers, landscape contractors, nurseries, and other project partners.
Our role is to help protect the design vision while keeping the process clear and organized.
Site Review & Installation Support
During installation, we remain involved as needed to review layout, plant placement, material details, and field adjustments. Gardens are living spaces, and thoughtful decisions on site often make the difference between a good project and a beautiful one.
Seasonal Care
A garden continues to evolve after installation. Landelier can provide seasonal guidance, refinement, planting adjustments, and long-term recommendations so the landscape matures with grace.
